Here are 5 simple but practical ideas to help you succeed at your weight loss goals.
1/ Raise your bar and have a longer runway.
"We vastly underestimate what we can achieve and grossly overestimate how quickly we can achieve it."
When I started my Successful Body journey on July 19th, 2019, my goal was to lose 25LBS in 3 months. But I quickly realized two things. My goal was too conservative and my timeline was way too aggressive.
So I got bold with my goal and upped it to 40LBS and extended my timeline from 3 months to 8 months with the intent to lose 4 to 5LBS a month. The result?
I reached my goal in 7.5 months and have sustained it ever since.

Takeaway → Set goals that will transform who you become vs making you a slightly better iteration of who you presently are. Then give yourself a really long runway to allow that magic to unfold.
2/ A quote to noodle on.
"People tend to become what they think about themselves." ~William James
Everything we presently have or don't have in our life is a result of how we think about ourselves.
When we understand this truth, we begin to recognize just how powerful our thoughts are at creating our present reality.

Takeaway → Don’t think anything about yourself you don’t want to be true.
3/ Catching the behaviour virus.
"Behaviour is contagious, so be careful who you are spending your time with."
Jim Rohn said we are the sum of the 5 people we spend the most time with.
It took me a long time to figure out why that is. It's because behaviour is contagious.
We adopt the behaviours, mannerisms and speech patterns of those we spend the most time with.
So if you are looking to create change, find people who have achieved what you desire and find a way to be in their orbit.
That can include things like buying their books, listening to their podcast or purchasing their coaching services if they are not accessible in person.

Takeaway → The fastest way to create change is to spend more time with those who are already who you want to become.
4/ Becoming the expert on you.
Here’s a simple framework to ensure that happens.
Run your own experiments.
Draw your own conclusions.
Design solutions for your DNA.

Your takeaway → No one knows you better than you know yourself, so design solutions that fit who you are and the life you want to live.
5/ The power of habit bundling.
My internet provider does something very clever. They bundle services together like internet, cable, and phone so I get greater bang for my buck.
This got me thinking about habits.
Each habit I adopt has an impact on every other habit I adopt.
In my case, I have 10 essential habits I do every single day and while each serves a specific purpose, they directly or indirectly have an impact on the other habits on my ScoreCard for Success.
I visualize it like this.
What I have created is an incredibly powerful habit bundle.
A single habit has a linear impact. Habit bundles have an exponential impact that far exceeds the sum.
