The "F🫢ck Aging" Manifesto
😛A cheeky R-rated guide to living a longer, happier, healthier life.
Welcome to the 171st consecutive edition of the newsletter.
Today’s focus is on aging — or more specifically, how I think about aging.
I created this manifesto for myself about 3 years ago to address many of the false beliefs that exist.
My initial drafts where written with soft and safe verbs like “Stop” or “Foil.”
For example, I believe retirement is a harmful invention.
But writing, “Dismiss retirement” lacked emotional impact.
I wanted a word that cut right to the chase, while capturing the seriousness of the opponent I was doing battle with.
So I started using the word, “F🤗ck” with an emoji that softened the word in a fun playful way, while still capturing the seriousness of my message.
Truthfully, I never use profanity in public. I’m not a fan of it. But I do sometimes use it privately when I do something stupid.
And I occasionally use it in my personal writing. This is one of those times.
So as you continue, keep in mind that my use of profanity is both strategic and playful, hence the emojis.
Here are the 10 principles behind my aging manifesto.
I like to think of them as mindsets. Steal any that you find valuable.
1. F😀ck retirement.
It's a fast track to a quick demise.
Longevity is tied to purpose and passion.
So don’t retire, transition into something meaningful.
And set the goal to be of service to humanity into your 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond!
2. F😎ck blindly following the "experts."
Not all doctors are created equal.
So stop outsourcing your health to people who have no vested interest in you.
Instead, take charge by becoming the expert on you.
For example, you can get your own bloodwork done, monitor your own glucose levels, and get Dexa Scans to assess your body fat levels.
Then consult with trusted sources you have vetted extensively.
If you are not sure where to begin, start with Peter Attia’s book Outlive.
In it, Peter advocates for what he calls Medicine 3.0 where we, the patient, play a more prominent proactive role in our healthcare.

3. F🥸ck acting your age.
Age is not a number.
It’s an invitation to be uncommon.
For example, Olga Kotelko took up track and field at 76 and set world records for her age group right up until she was 94.
Be your version of Olga!!

4. F😷ck relying on the healthcare system to save you.
Healthcare, for most, is reactionary.
They wait until they get sick, and then frantically hope someone can fix them.
That’s disease-care — NOT healthcare.
A better approach is to be your own healthcare system.
Start proactively investing in essential habits that skew vibrant healthy aging in your favour. (Re-read #2.)
Remember, if you don’t take care of you, then you are forcing that burden on your children.
⛔️Don’t do that to your kids!⛔️
5. F🧬ck your DNA.
Refuse to let your genetic code run the show.
In his book, Lifespan, Dr. David Sinclair suggests that your DNA determines 20% of who you become.
The other 80% is based on the behaviours you choose.
That means your genetic destiny is negotiable.
So why not make the choice to invest heavily in behaviours that will kick Father Time in the 🍒.
Resource → "Lifespan" by Dr. David Sinclair.
6. F🤬ck retirement homes.
They are like junk yards.
That's where people go to rot.
Jim Rohn says, “You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.”
Translation — You become who you surround yourselve with.
Choose to age elegantly in your residence of choice where you get to live vs. a place where you are waiting to die.
7. F🤮ck cancer, dementia and other fatal conditions.
Your body is like your lawn.
When your lawn is neglected, weeds run wild.
But when well manicured, those weeds never get a chance to grow.
Disease is like weeds.
It manifests in neglected bodies.
Skew success in you favour by leveraging that 80% you control to create an internal environment so hostile that it kicks the 💩 out of fatal conditions.
8. F🤓ck the notion "You can't teach an old dog new tricks."
That's something sh💩tty teachers say.
Our brains have a tremendous capacity to learn new things regardless of age.
According to Dr. Michael Merzenich, one of the world’s leading researchers on the brain…
“The brain is not an inanimate vessel that we fill. It’s more like a living creature with an appetite, one that can grow and change itself with proper nourishment and exercise.”
When you embrace that idea, you create the possibility to become extraordinary among the ordinary.

9. F🧐ck "getting" old.
There is a difference between "Growing" old vs "Getting" old.
Getting old is deterioration over time DUE TO NEGLECT!
Growing old is beautiful aging that comes with badges of honour like grey hair, wrinkles and wisdom.
One of my favourite examples of beautiful aging is actress Dame Judi Dench.
She’s 89, still acting, and as far as I can tell, plastic surgery free!!
Watch her in action on the Graham Norton show last month, where he asked her to recite any Shakespeare soliloquy she could remember.
What she does next is beautiful and astonishing!
10. F😛ck the fear of growing old.
We fear aging because of the examples provided by previous generations.
But our future is not determined by the past of others. It’s determined by our present and what we choose to do with it.
Be part of a new generation that is creating new rules & investing in new lifestyles and technologies that enable beautiful elegant healthy aging.
In summary…
Aging is inevitable.
And while you can’t defeat it —YET — you can delay it — quite possibly by 1, 2 or 3 decades if you start making the right decisions now!
That’s it for today. 🙏 Thanks for reading.
